For our first LA Neighborhood Spotlight, we're focusing on our neighbor just over the hill, Sherman Oaks!
Sherman Oaks is one of those neighborhoods people underestimate until they actually spend time there. Then it clicks. The streets are lined with huge trees; Ventura Boulevard somehow has everything you need, and there’s this balance of calm neighborhood energy mixed with classic LA movement. You’ve got long-time sushi spots next to newer cafés, families out walking at night, people hiking Fryman in the morning, and homes that feel warm, comfortable, and actually lived in.
What makes Sherman Oaks special is that it doesn’t feel overly curated or performative. It’s polished, but relaxed. People care about design and comfort equally. Big living rooms, soft morning light, doors open when the weather cools down at night. It’s the kind of neighborhood where home is a huge part of the lifestyle. Comfortable, welcoming, and enough space to breathe a little.
If Sherman Oaks were a Joneses sofa, it would be The Dude. Deep seating and two rows of back pillows make this style flexible; it's great for hanging out or major lounging. Tailored but cozy, not over the top. We love The Dude.
